VINDICO TAKES TO THE STAGE AT THESTADIUMBUSINESS SUMMIT 2024...

Vindico’s Chief Project Officer, Dan Keane, is a guest speaker at this year’s TheStadiumBusiness Summit.   This is the third year running that Vindico will be guest speaking at the global event. In 2022 and 2023, Vindico CEO Jo Polson took to the stage to present insights into the future of tech in the sports and stadia sector. These include insights into WDKWWDKY (the catchy acronym that means: We Don’t Know What We Don’t Know Yet) and solutions to the rabbit hole of complexity in the data-heavy sports and stadia sector.  For TheStadiumBusiness Summit 2024, Vindico’s CEO is passing the mic to CPO, Dan Keane, who will be unveiling SWAPP 3.0 – our latest software for venue and stadium management, which is brand new for 2024.  As our CPO, Dan’s passionate about delivering innovative, high-quality outputs, keen on continuous improvement, and likes to think he and the wider Vindico team “leave nothing on the pitch”.  He’s also partial to a bad pun, apparently.  “I’m tremendously excited to be heading to Emirates Old Trafford for this year’s Stadium Business Summit. It’s a place that’s delivered numerous, momentous sports and live entertainment events, and I’m honoured to be speaking on the main stage this year,” says Dan.  As part of his talk, Dan will be exclusively unveiling SWAPP 3.0 – the latest version of our popular venue and stadium management software. “I’ll be delivering a brief presentation on our latest product innovation, SWAPP 3.0, which we’re very excited about.  “SWAPP 3.0 is designed for all things venue and stadium management, making everything you do more streamlined, efficient, and resilient.   “To give you a taste of what to expect, SWAPP’s new and improved features include staff, event, and task management, reporting, and incident management. With SWAPP 3.0, everything you do becomes more effective and engaging, and it can very literally transform your venue.” Without giving away too much, the latest version of SWAPP helps stadiums and venues to streamline operations, drive efficiencies, and excel in knowledge transfer and upskilling – empowering organisations to succeed. Aside from Dan’s talk and the unveiling of SWAPP 3.0, Vindico will also have our signature purple stand at the event. As Dan puts it:  “We’ll have a stand… it’ll be purple… you won’t miss us, so come and have a chat!”  This year’s TheStadiumBusiness Summit takes place at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester from 17 – 19 June 2024. AI: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AND HOW IT’S HELPING DEVELOPERS...

AI (Artificial Intelligence) has officially entered the zeitgeist – and most developers are now using it in some form to supercharge their work.  But what exactly is AI? And what does it do, beyond a large language model like ChatGPT?  Vindico developer Shaun Beynon-Thomas sums up what you need to know – and how it’s helping software developers to improve accuracy and increase productivity.    AI is more of a blanket term these days, relating to multiple systems in one. In the broadest sense, AI is a technology that lets computers and machines simulate human intelligence and problem-solving capabilities.Aside from large language models like ChatGPT, Artificial Intelligence also takes the form of:  Machine Learning: Algorithms that enable systems to learn and improve from experience Computer Vision: Which enables machines to interpret and make decisions based on visual input Robotics: The creation of machines that can perform tasks autonomously  When it comes to software development, a 2023 GitHub survey found that 92% of developers are already using AI at work. Aside from helping developers to increase productivity, improve accuracy, and fix bugs, developers are also anticipating that AI will enhance team collaboration – something we’re already seeing among our dev team here at Vindico. AI is also facilitating deeper integration into web and mobile applications. These include:  Enhanced User Experiences: Using AI for personalised recommendations, chatbots, and voice interfaces Improved Development Tools: AI-powered code completion and debugging tools Automated Testing: AI-driven testing frameworks that can predict and detect issues faster Data-Driven Insights: Incorporating AI to analyse user behaviour and improve application performance Security Enhancements: AI for detecting and preventing security threats in real-time When it comes to AI’s capabilities, its multi-modal potential excites me most – to see what level of automation can be used to handle text to image, image to video, and so forth.  But it’s not all plain sailing when it comes to AI – and the moral implications of Artificial Intelligence are significant.  There is a huge responsibility to make sure AI systems are designed and used ethically, avoiding biases that can lead to unfair treatment or discrimination.  Privacy is also paramount as AI systems require and process vast amounts of data.  There’s also a need for tight regulations and standards to make sure AI technologies are developed and used responsibly, too.  But provided it’s used ethically and transparently, AI is proving a game-changer for developers, and it seems to be helping us enhance our teams, our output, and our ability to go beyond our clients’ expectations.  To find out more about Vindico’s bespoke software development – and how it can help your business gain an edge – click here to get in touch today.  Shaun Beynon-Thomas is part of the award-winning dev team at Vindico.
